Minor Freakout...

You know how sometimes a cold can just seem to hit you out of the blue? I've been merrily rocking out to the Classical Holiday Songs channel on those nifty cable TV music channels, humming Deck The Halls loudly (and quite poorly, mind you, as poor Lulu is tone deaf) as I clean our room and do some last-minute filing.

*BAM*

Headachy, watery eyed, sore-throated misery has just hit me like a ton of bricks. I know this feeling ALL too well, as it's what came upon me the night before our house guest arrived for Thanksgiving (and subsequently kept me bedridden for 8 days.)

Am now downing mass quantities of Airborne, and scouring the house for some kind of Zicam product. Am seriously contemplating the creation of an Airborne-tini (alcohol kills the germs, right?) but have to babysit this evening. Am thinking it would be poor form to show up inebriated to mind an 18 month old for the evening. But maybe that's just me.

Do any of you have remedies you rely on to kick a cold as it's coming on?

xoxo,
Lulu

I love Emergen-C powder! You mix it with water and it seems to really step in and stop the cold immediately! Hope you feel better very quickly!

Zicam is my go-to drug of choice. That and a strong Martini ;-)

Man, you get sick a lot! You should get tested for allergies! You were cleaning, right, so you were kicking up dust..maybe some mold in your building. Poor thing, get well.

Sleep and tons of fluids! I've beaten colds by resting as soon as the symptoms come on. Also lots of ther-flu. Its pretty nasty, but it works!

Feel better Miss Lulu!

My top two faves are Zicam and Aleve Cold and Sinus. They make you better and don't give you the groggy cold-medicine feeling you get from other stuff. Also, drinks lots of water and take a shot of brandy, really, a shot of brandy.
Hope you feel better soon!

Zicam is really the best. It really does make the length of the cold shorter. Good luck and feel better!

I hope you're feeling better after the weekend?

My advice, if you still need it, is drink loads of water, keep warm and rest.

Get well soon!
